USAID/MujerProspera: Advancing Gender Equality in Northern Central America

March 19 @ 9:00 am

Please join the Americas Program for a conversation on innovations made to advance women’s economic security in Northern Central America, featuring a Keynote Address by Administrator Samantha Power, United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
On January 3, 2022, as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to address the root causes of irregular migration in Central America, USAID launched the MujerProspera Challenge, a regional initiative to advance gender equality in El Salvador (ELS), Guatemala (GUA), and Honduras (HON) that supported nine–primarily local—organizations (see below).

Over the past two years, MujerProspera partners have, in partnership with the private sector, advanced impactful solutions to advance women’s economic security and address harmful gender norms. These include to promote women’s decision-making, agency, and access to power; increase resources and economic opportunities for women; and improve labor protections and safety from gender-based violence in the workplace. This event will feature the nine organizations and will showcase the results of their innovative approaches.
