In January, voters in Taiwan will elect a new president. On December 5, the Freeman Chair in China Studies and China Power Project will host a virtual expert roundtable previewing the election, implications for cross-Strait ties, and possible trajectories for U.S.-China relations in the ensuing months.
Joining the roundtable are Nathan Batto, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Political Science, Academia Sinica and Jointly Appointed Associate Research Fellow at the Election Study Center, National Chengchi University; Brian Hioe, Journalist and Co-Founder of New Bloom Magazine; and Kathrin Hille, Greater China Correspondent for the Financial Times. The discussion will be co-hosted by Jude Blanchette, Freeman Chair in China Studies at CSIS and Bonny Lin, Director of the CSIS China Power Project and Senior Fellow for Asian Security.
This event is made possible through general support to CSIS.
