We are delighted to invite you to the International Workshop “Dynamics of the Constitution for the Oceans: UNCLOS at 40” devoted to the 40th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The Workshop will be held in person from 9 to 10 December 2022 in Hamburg, Germany. It will bring together distinguished judges and practitioners, leading academics, and younger scholars to exchange and share their views about the past, present, and future of the UNCLOS.
Each session of the Workshop assesses specific areas regulated by UNCLOS from the perspective of expectations at the time of the adoption and a view to future viability. The workshop will take place on two consecutive days. The first day is devoted to UNCLOS and marine areas beyond national sovereignty. The second day concentrates on UNCLOS as implemented and interpreted by different actors.
