The High Seas Treaty and Latin America’s Role in Marine Conservation

This event explores how Latin America could lead in ratifying the High Seas Treaty and creating marine protected areas in the high seas. The region is already a standout in marine protection in territorial waters. By quickly ratifying the treaty and designating conservation areas, Latin America would bring the treaty to life and attract greater international support.
