What is the Security Research Hub?

The Security Research Hub (SRH) is a platform where Florida International University’s (FIU) Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Polic (JGI) harnesses publicly available information to promote shared understanding about Latin American and Caribbean security issues. The SRH leverages JGI’s subject matter experts and researchers, in collaboration with our renowned academic and private partners, to produce authoritative and reliable research honed by the rigor of academia.

Created in partnership with U.S. Southern Command, the SRH focuses on a wide range of topics such as Illegal Unreported and Unregulated (IUUx) activities, foreign investment, and transnational crime.

Defining the Security Research Hub

The Security Research Hub integrates virtual learning and build a collaborative community from across academia, government, civil society organizations, and private industry throughout the hemisphere. At its core, the SRH has three primary objectives it aims to fulfill:

In fulfilling these goals, FIU and its partners can exchange information and create a workforce to promote a secure Latin American and Caribbean region.
